Yesterday we decided to chase the "possible" Arctic Loon north of the
Priest River Dam and with the assistance of Dennis Duffy, Gene
Revelas, Jim Flynn, Rick Romea and Steve Mlodinow. We were able to
come to a unanimous decision ...well maybe and maybe not.

We found it! aaahh no we did not.....ahhh....yes we
did......aahhh...no it wasn't it......yes it was....but....it did not
look right.....now we are sure we have it....well almost.

Ok yous guys... what did we see? :-)

All kidding aside, we enjoyed all your company and appreciated your
reluctance to make a snap decision on the ID of the loon.

After several failed attempts to find some Common Loons for
comparison Sandy and I headed for Moses Lake and on homeward.

For us, the highlights of the trip were (besides the loon) 5 TRUMPETER
SWANS and 25 CANVASBACK at the northerly end of Lake Lenore, 17 RUDDY
DUCKS on Soap Lake, 1 AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN south of Desert Aire on
the river next to hwy. 243 mile marker 3, 1 PRAIRIE FALCON 5 miles
south of Coulee City and a SHORT-EARED OWL 1/2 mile north of Coulee
City.

Total species 39, total miles 264
