Method: Follows the Butterfly Monitoring Scheme described in
Pollard and Yates (1993, Monitoring Butterflies for Ecology and
Conservation. Chapman Hall, London.). Eight 150m transects were
walked along the survey route. All butterflies, odonata and
selected day-moth species seen within 5m of the transect line
are counted and recorded. The aggregate count follows:

Clodius Parnassian 2
Pale Swallowtail 2
Veined (Margined) White 7
Hydapse Fritillary 1
Western Meadow (Pacific) Fritillary 22
Milbert's Tortoiseshell 1

C?nurgina c?rulea 1
Drasteria sp. 4

Paddle-tailed Darner 2
California Darner 1
Aeshna sp. 2
Tule Bluet 1

Notes: The day moth DRASTERIA sp is probably _Drasteria divergens_
(_Syneda divergens_ in Holland 1916). The weather is still overcast
and unseasonably cool.
