Tweets,
There must have been a recent(?) introduction of NORTHERN BOBWHITES along the Snoqualmie Valley Bike Trail, at least at the Stillwater Unit located between Duvall and Carnation. I conservatively counted 6 birds (with four seen) between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. yesterday (11 July) along the trail in the vicinity of the Fish & Game parking area (closed off). The birds were actively calling and engaging in apparent territorial disputes.
What a nice surprise. These were the first bobwhites I had seen in Washington state.
Hope they become established at this location. It looks like pretty good habitat. Anyone have details on this particular introduction? I assume Fish & Game had something to do with it.
