Spent a sunny day at Ocean Shores, but a lean day for shorebirds. Here's
an update on conditions and birds:
Pt. Brown Jetty
1 Wandering Tattler (adult in breeding plumage)
1 Black-bellied Plover (calling as it flew by)
2 Black Turnstones
The last 100 feet at the end of the jetty is heavily caked in gull excrement,
adding to the exciting footing.

Damon Point St .Park access to the Game Range
2 flocks of 1-200 peeps, all Western and Least Sandpipers, at least the ones
I could get close enough to ID.
5 Semi-palmated Plovers
The Snowy Plover breeding area is off limits until AUG 31

Damon Point Pond
about 50 peeps
Note that the road was badly washed out near the pond. The pond is larger
than its been in years. The road is gated near the entrance bathrooms with
a sign "Closed Indefinitely", so you have to walk the road to the pond and
beyond.

Bill's Spit
39 Whimbrels

North Beach High School Nature Trail
50 Greater Yellowlegs
20 dowitchers
They're adding a boardwalk/bridge over the water. The birds were all
perched on the bridge.

Also lots of Brown Pelicans, Heermann's Gulls and Caspian Terns, both adults
and juvies.
