Sunday, July 9, 7:35 PM. Hi, this is Steve Mlodinow. Today, Dennis Duffey & I
went out to Ocean Shores and at the Ocean Shores jetty at about 7:00 am we
had a MANX SHEARWATER. Then along the south shore of Damon Point we had an
ELEGANT TERN. That was probably around 8:30 or so. And that was pretty much
it, otherwise it was fairly slow shorebirdwise out there. Yesterday on
Whidbey Island, Steve Pink & I had SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS at several spots
including 4 at Crockett Lake and 2 at Swantown Lake. There was also 3 at the
Joshua Pond in Skagit County near where Joshua Road hits Chuckanut Drive.
And, there were 3 more in Snohomish County northwest of Silvana on 28th just
north of Gorman. That's it, good luck and good birding.

Monday, July 10, 9:22 AM. Hi, this is Greg Toffic, with a report on Everett
for yesterday, the 9th. At Port Gardner Bay there were 2 PURPLE MARTINS but
I couldn't tell if they were male or female. Also, on Ebey Island there were
about 200 peeps, about 2/3 of them were LEASTS and 1 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER.
This was just before high tide. And although I got a second hand report of an
ARTIC TERN I wasn't able to find it. However, there was 1 individual
FORSTER'S TERN on the west side of the island on the south end of it, with
CASPIAN TERNS, This may be the same individual that was there about a month
ago.

Tuesday, July 11, 6:23 PM. This is Jim Elder calling on Tuesday, July 11. On
my way home I saw a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO flying over a ramp onto I-5 from
220th Street in Snohomish County which is in Mount Lake Terrace. It was about
5:15 pm. If I get a chance I'm going to try to relocate it tomorrow morning.

Wednesday, July 12, 7:37 AM. Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Due to a
malfunction in the Birdbox, my Sunday report and the report proceeding that
has been cut off. But, Sunday had some important birds that I wanted to put
them back on the tape. At Ocean Shores on Sunday, Dennis Duffey and I had a
MANX SHEARWATER around 7:00 am seen from the base of the Ocean Shores jetty.
And then while walking along the south side of Damon Point we had an ELEGANT
TERN. Overall shorebird numbers have been low as we saw earlier on Whidbey
Island. So hopefully that will change, but that has been the pattern for the
last few weeks as well. That's it, good luck and good birding.

Last transcribed July 14, 5:58 PM.

I will be off Tweeters until the July 23, so don't panic. I'll pick up the
Birdbox when I return.
