It was a banner morning for green herons at Narbeck! I saw five of them
all at the same time! They stuck around for 45 minutes while I sat and
watched with rapt attention. There were 2 juveniles, one female and two
males. I saw them feeding along the edge of the pond, perching on snags near
where I sat, calling loudly, and the males performed aerial acrobatics as
they chased one another. Superb viewing!
On my way out of the 'theatre' I briefly watched a marsh wren taking a
dirt bath in the middle of the path.
