We added a pileated to our yard list at 35th and Columbia this
weekend. Then this morning at six thirty I heard but did not see a
pileated at the woods just east of Leschi School, a possible nesting
site. The original perch was the dead snag on the top of an old redwood
in very clear view. We hope he nests nearby.
