I just got back from two days visiting my son in Cannon Beach. I counted at
least 16 Horned Puffins in the grassy areas on the north face of Haystack
Rock. The tide was very low on Mon. morning so could get all the way out to
the rock. Also, saw the usual large numbers of nesting Pelagic Cormorants and
Western Gulls, as well as 10-12 Harlequin Ducks, all female, on the exposed
rocks on the south side. A number of Common Murre and Pigeon Guillemots were
also flying around Haystack Rock.
