I made a quick trip to Ocean Shores today after work to look for the
Yellow-billed Loon. I was there at 6:00 PM (High tide was at 3:00 PM), I
went to the base of Damon Point, next to the Snowy Plover nesting area. In
the calm water along the submerged jetty were several flocks of birds
including many SURF SCOTERS, a dozen RED-THROATED LOONS, 4 COMMON LOONS, and
closeby the YELLOW-BILLED LOON. It was only about 50 feet offshore, and at
times it was right alongside the Common Loons allowing for great comparsions.

I didn't have a lot of time to bird, but there were many RHINO AUKLETS,
CASPIAN TERNS, BROWN PELILCANS and HEERMAN'S GULLS.
