Hi:
I just returned from driving my Dad to Saskachewan to visit his brother and
sister. I was able to get in a lot of birding with 113 species for the trip.
The highlights of the trip were 8 lifers including 3 Whooping Cranes Flying
over the highway west of Cold Lake Alberta on the trip home. I also
corrupted a perfectly normal and well adjusted 16 year old niece and turned
her into a hard core birder in just a week. There is probably a law against
that,(we even shared binos and bird guides!!!) she willingly walked into a
Woodtick infested area to feed her habit, more ticks than I have ever seen.
At one point after walking for only 5 or 10 minutes Angie had 15 crawling up
one leg of her jeans. This was in the Quill Lake Ducks unlimited development
where there were thousands of ducks and shorebirds of all types and an
amazing area to bird.
