I can't help but quote Walt Kelley, he wrote probably the most profound
line to appear in a comic strip. When Pogo and the gang came home and found
the swamp filled with trash, someone, probably Pogo said:

"We have met the enemy and they is us."

A bit of a paraphrase, I'm sure.
