It's been easily 20 years since I had to resort first to bifocals,
and then trifocals. They made using binocs and a scope miserable.
That at &***!! line always seemed to lie right across the exit pupil I
was peering into. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago I thought to try the
transition type without the line. I find them to be magnificently
superior to traditional bifocals, both in general and for use with
binocs or a scope.
