Subject: Female Black-chinned Hummingbird on Nicolai Mt

From: Mike Patterson - celata at pacifier.com

While doing butterfly censusing on Nicolai Mt this afternoon
I got very good looks at a surprisingly cooperative female
BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD. Nicolai Mt is the second highest
peak in Clatsop Co. Black-chins have been reported from
Saddle Mt in previous years, but this is the first non-spring
migrant I have come across for the county.

The bird was sitting in the broken top of a Silver fir about
100m down the road from the communications installation.
Also seen there were an adult and a juvenile GRAY JAY.

Mike Patterson Alas, to wear the mantle of Galileo,
Astoria, OR it is not enough to be persecuted
celata at pacifier.com by an unkind establishment,
you must also be right.
