Scott Gremel, an Olympic Nat'l Park ranger stationed at Lake Ozette,
called this morning to report an Eastern Phoebe at the lake. The bird is
singing in alders at the mouth of the Ozette River, where it empties out
of the lake. This is near the footbridge across the Ozette River, at the
trailhead to Cape Alava and Sand Point, by the ranger station and ranger
quarters.

Scott is from Indiana, very familiar with the song and habits of Eastern
Phoebes. He said this is a very good bird, doing its "phe-be" thing over
and over with a lot of tail wagging. Scott said he would be there all
day today, if anyone needs help finding it.
