Hi Tweets!

My friend Pete and I went walking around the Des Moines Marina and Park last
night and watched about five Great Blue Herons landing and taking off from
the tall trees above the creek and park. Does anybody know the status of
the nests? How many are hidden in the leaves?

What are the bright yellow birds that hang upside down at tube feeders? I
spied what looked like a pair - one very yellow and the other an
olive-yellow gracefully hanging upside down at a feeder near the Green
River. Were these American Goldfinches? I've never seen this stunt before.
