Hi Tweets,
I'm posting it late but I it was new to me.
Saturday (5/3/00) we had been to Seward Park. Here I saw a Great Blue Heron
fishing like a Kingfisher! He was sitting on a tree, around 50 feet above
the water. Keeping eye on the fish below water, he dived directly and
catched the fish. I saw this total 3 times in 15 minutes. This is the first
time I saw Heron diving like a Kingfisher.

The other birds seen were Pied-billled Grebe(2), Common Merganser(1),
Bald Eagle attacked by Stellers Jay and Crows, Belted Kingfisher, Northen
Flicker, Bush Tits and ofcourse Mallards, Goose, gooselings etc.

Narendra Bhagwat,
West Seattle.
