New Class: Birding By Bus

Most birders are environmentalists by definition. We care about preserving
the habitats of birds and other wildlife, and we try to reflect that caring
in our actions. Here's a way you can demonstrate a way to enjoy birds and
not add to the pollution in the air or consume additional petroleum products
to do it! Why not take the bus?

June 17, ELWAS will offer a class especially for beginning birders (but of
course, everyone is welcome) and we will be using public transportation. Our
day begins at the Park 'n' Ride at Mercer Slough for some wetland birding in
this great Bellevue park. Then we'll be boarding Metro for a ride to Juanita
Bay Park in Kirkland for more birding in this rich habitat on the shores of
Lake Washington. Then back to our starting point. They'll be time for lunch
and coffee on the way.

King County Metro is donating day passes for all participants in this class!

This will be a great class for families. No driving! Kids under 15 should be
accompanied by an adult.
