I have also been curious about Lazuli Buntings this year because of the number I have seen at
Scatter Creek and the various other reports on Tweeters. Ruth recognizes that they are
regular in occurrence at many localities. Jewett, Taylor, Shaw, and Aldrich don't ascribe
any particular rarity to Lazuli Buntings in western Washington back in their time (1953).
However, they do say that Lazuli Buntings do not occur at all on the Olympic Peninsula.
So... it seems that the bird or birds observed in the Sequim area might be the most noteworthy

(though, in my mind they are noteworthy 'cause they're so pretty and I haven't seen many).
