Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday June 15. If you have anything to add call Harry

A bright YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was well seen June 9 at Malheur NWR
Headquarters. It disappeared soon after and could not be relocated. A
YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO and a female NORTHERN PARULA were there June 10 and
a male PARULA was there the next day. A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was there
June 13. A family group of GRAY-HEADED JUNCOS was reported from Catlow
Valley June 7.

A male GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was at Fern Ridge Reservoir June 9.

An unusual influx of ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS during the week brought
birds to Port Orford; Beaver Creek, south of Newport; at Newport; near
Pacific City; at Springfield; and in Bend.

Four BLACK SWIFTS were at New River, south of Bandon June 10, and another
was over the mouth of the Siuslaw River June 12. A female LAPLAND
LONGSPUR was at Flores Lake, near Cape Blanco June 14. An ASH-THROATED
FLYCATCHER was at Pony Slough on Coos Bay June 10.

An EASTERN KINGBIRD was at the Marine Science Center on Yaquina Bay June
12. That day a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was at the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay. A
BREWER'S SPARROW was at the D River in Lincoln City, and a male REDSTART
was on Cascade Head June 13. A PRAIRIE FALCON and a LAZULI BUNTING were
at Cascade Head June 12. A MARBLED GODWIT and 12 WHIMBREL were at the
mouth of the Necanicum River in Gearhart June 13.

A small flock of possible BLACK SWIFTS was reported from Ridgefield NWR
June 12. Several WILSON'S PHALAROPE and 40 BLUE-WINGED TEAL were also
seen there that day. On June 10 four WHITE PELICANS were at Smith/Bybee
Lakes in North Portland.

Five BLACK TERNS were at Baskett Slough NWR June 13. Two BREWER'S
SPARROWS were at Detroit Flats June 12. An EASTERN KINGBIRD was seen June
13 north of Eugene.

On June 12 a WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL was near Waldo Lake in the Cascades
southeast of Eugene. A male REDSTART was along Indian Ford Creek at the
Calliope Hummer spot north of Sisters June 10. Several BLACK-BACKED and
THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS are now at the Elk Lake Burn south of Mt.
Bachelor. A MOCKINGBIRD was at Glass Butte near Hampton June 9.

A REDSTART was in Fields June 11, and a BAND-TAILED PIGEON was in
Frenchglen June 13. A territorial LEAST FLYCATCHER remains at the
trailhead in Page Springs Campground.
