Subject: FW: VOTE - Hanford Reach monument polls

Two newspapers in eastern Washington are conducting an on-line poll to
gauge public opinion regarding whether President Clinton was right in
designating the Hanford Reach a new National Monument.

He was. Megan and I floated down the 31-mile reach last June to get a
first hand look. It is one of the most extraordinary stretches of river
anywhere in the world, and is certainly deserving of National Monument
status.

Now is your chance to have a say!!! Please visit the web sites listed
below and vote "YES" today. It takes less than one minute at each site.

And please pass this message on to others who can help support this
cause.

=====================

Two pulse polls: " Should the Hanford Reach be designated a national
monument? "

We were winning by a strong margin when it began, but the opponents have
been emailing in force. They think the lands along the reach should be
used to grow potatoes and asparagus instead of mule deer, coyotes,
kestrels, sage thrashers, sharptailed grouse, loggerhead shrikes,
prairie
falcons, and the 275 other species of wildlife that they support now.

Now it's our turn to come back:
