A quiet day with high overcast skies. I was joined by Brian Bell, and by my
parents visiting from Toronto which was a real treat!

Highlights:

Green Heron At least 1 on slough
Wood Duck Flushed a male from slough
Virginia Rail Heard calling below weir
Bald Eagle Adult at lake
American Kestrel Pair at nest snag
Belted Kingfisher Male and female near weir
Band-tailed Pigeon At least seven
Warbling Vireo One calling opposite rowing club dock
Red-eyed Vireo One just south of dog area

There appeared to be two fledged young at the RED-TAILED HAWK nest west of West
Lake Samm. Parkway near the Rowng Club. They called incessantly for their
parents to bring them something. One could clearly fly, the other one we're
not sure of, although it wasn't right at the nest, so presumably it has managed
to fly a few yards so far.

All told, 43 species.
