Diann: Here's a turkey vulture story for you. (I've reported to you earlier
about seeing this group of TVs before.)
My partner Clark lives near Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. He has an old
dog named Goggy who was contentedly sleeping in the large yard yesterday. As
Clark was puttering about in the kitchen, he saw shadows and knew that
something was flying nearby.
Clark looked out and saw five turkey vultures circling the yard. They got
lower and lower, below the level of the decks of the two story house as they
were checking out the dog, who was still sound asleep. Finally, Clark was
alarmed enough that he yelled out to Goggy, who sleepily raised his head.
When Goggy moved, the turkey vultures lost interest and flew away.
(Someday I'll tell you the story about the crows and Goggy.)
Best,
