I went after the ovenbird today, got a late start and arrived at 0800. The
bird was singing away, I got several very good looks on the small pulloff
trail next to the tape. It was great listening to that magnifing song. I
then went to the burn area at the end of Sand Lake trail. It was a little
bit of a hike up the hill, BUT the rewards were great. In a hour I had two
black-backed and 5 three-toed woodpeckers. I was quite pleased. Keep the
binos steady.
