Hello Tweets,

Today my mother and I attempted for both BLACK-BACKED and NORTHERN THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS with great success, as we walked around the horsetrails within the White Pass campground, and along the Pacific Crest trail to Clear Creek, before snowpack was apparent, and inpassible, but 1 N.THREE-TOED WOODPECKER was observed at the trailhead#1107, otherwise 3 N.THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS and 3 BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS were lower along the trail, with 1 of each species in the campground itself, for a total of 7 woodpeckers! The weather was great, but not a high species list, as can be expected birding above 1500 meters this time of year. Other notable species that were noted during our visit included:

2 RED-NAPED SAPSUCKERS
2 OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHERS(nesting)
4 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS
3 CHIPPING SPARROWS
