Hi Y'all:

Boy, I really kicked a hornets' nest with my post. Reminds me of the
time when I spent the summer working in northwest Montana for the U.S.
Forest Service in between semesters at the U. of Montana. back in
ancient Egyptian days.

We were working on a mountainous trail up to the Moose Peak fire lookout
tower rehanging the telephone line in trees which was brought down by
the winter snow. We wore pole climbers and were going up and down trees
like monkeys. When one fellow queried on which tree to rehang that
particular segment of line. I struck one tree with the flat of a
cruising axe and
WWOOWW!! disturbed a hornets' nest. Down the trail we went waving our
arms and coats trying to fend off clouds of hornets. Never covered a
half mile so fast while wearing climbers!
