Hi all. I have a query of sorts. Does anyone know of a group that might
put out commercial advertisements FOR the environment? When I see ads on TV
for products that are blatantly detrimental to the environment I often wish
it would be followed by a commercial meant to educate and raise the
consciousness of consumers.
I am with Gene 100% with regards his comments about mankind's impact upon
the earth. Raising the consciousness of humans without offending is a
problem. I really think education is the key. How to educate people who are
unaware that they need education is certain areas of their lives is something
I have puzzled over. I thought perhaps inundating them with TV commercials
that are meant to help people see that everything they do has an impact upon
all life on earth -- even to 'running water in the sink until it warms up to
the temperature one desires' (in my house this clean water is saved and used
to flush the toilet).
I donate money to a number of 'bunny/tree hugger' organizations but I
know of none that have an agenda of 'educating the masses' through mass media
bombardment via television. Yes, I HAVE seen the rare ad on TV that promotes
environmental consciousness but I am talking bombardment, here. I would like
to find a group that solely focuses on environmental education. Does anyone
know of such a group?
