Subject: Unusual Bird Behavior

Hello,

My name is Julie Brown and I live in Yacolt Wa. I have a song sparrow that
has been exhibiting some very unusual behavior and I need some insight if
possible.
At 7:30 a.m. this sparrow perches on an evergreen bush outside my bedroom
window. He/she sings for me. Then this bird will fly into the window and
stick to the screen and look in at me. He has found his way into other
windows around the house. This bird started doing this 4 weeks ago and
continues to do so every day now, sometimes for hours. We have also spotted
him after dark flying into the windows. For the most part this attention was
nice, but a month later I'm afraid this bird will hurt itself.
Is this unusual for a wild bird? Is it trying to tell me something? I
provide seed, suet and plenty of water year around for all my feathered
friends but I don't know what to make of this birds behavior. Can you help
or know someone who can? Thank you.

Julie Ann Brown
