Columbia Estuary Report - 03/05/2000

The Lower Columbia Birders went out to Brownsmead on
Saturday. Recent rains have filled up most of the
field with water, but there were surprisingly few
duck around.

A very large flock of 400+ SNOW GEESE was seen in flight
from the Twilight Eagle Sanctuary platform (something must
have spooked them up from Miller Sands). There are still
good numbers of TUNDRA SWANS along the lower river.

We saw NO swallows.

A nice little flock of WESTERN MEADOWLARKS were chasing
one another about and singing near the Brownsmead grange.

you must also be right.
