Saturday, March 4, 10:54 PM. Hi, this is Stephen Mlodinow. Today, Dennis
Duffey and I birded Whidbey Island and then went over to the Samish
Flats. Despite decent weather, the birding was distinctly slower than
usual. The only highlight was a RUDDY TURNSTONE, and with BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS, BLACK TURNSTONES and SURFBIRDS at the old San DeFuca pier
at Penn Cove. We couldn't find any ROCK SANDPIPERS there or at Oak Harbor.
