As we were returning from the fantastic dinner at the Horsehoe Grange
in Cathcart on Sunday, we bicycled along the West Snoqualmie Valley Road
and were surprised to see at least 24 Bald Eagles, both adult and
immature, sitting in trees and snags or soaring overhead. The eagles were
seen between the Lake Crescent Road bridge and the Woodinville-Duvall
Road. A local resident reported that the eagles had been there for a week
or more, and he had counted up to 30 birds at one time. It was really
quite a spectacular sight for us, as we have bicycled the valley for many
years, and have never seen more than one or two eagles at a time.
