This morning I saw the first Wood Duck of the season, a female, on the
lake (Long Lake, southeast of Lacey). Some of you will remember that
we've had a continuing saga of several Wood Ducks putting on a great show
here, nesting, or maybe attempting to nest, or maybe not nesting in the
area. Anyway, the box has been replaced on a different tree, close to the
water but facing away from it, and I'm hoping for great results this year.
