Hello Bruce,
After we got back yesterday not seeing the Tufted Duck,we figured out this
bird would be best seeing on an incomming tide ore outgoing tide. Since the
party on Saturday found this bird at 2,30 PM and high tide is at 4.30 Pm
there saw this bird on an incommig tide. You did not found it on a high
tide than tody it was high tide at 5.10 AM and you saw the male Tufted Duck
at 9.30 on an outgoing tide. We was never in doubt of this sighting as we
also saw a big flock of Scoups way out in the bay,to far to identify.
I already have three sightings of the Tufted Duck, but still like to see
this bird again in Grays Harbor.
I notice on Sunday morning there was verry few Duck species on the ponds
and and it seems the Tide was way out.I thank you for posting the sighting,
and hope this bird will stay around.A verry good finding ,again for Grays
Harbor.
