I did my monthly census route at the Steigerwald Lake N.W.R., near
Washougal in Clark County, on Monday, March 13. Lots of TREE and
VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS are here now, the only other birds of note were a
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and the HARRIS' SPARROW that has been present all
winter. This is the fourth winter in a row with a Harris' Sparrow in the
same blackberry patch along the dike.
