Hi Tweeters, (cc Jim Flynn) I now have 3 swallows for the year already!
Yesterday (3/14) while walking in my yard near Bonney Lake I saw 1
Violet-green Swallow fly over the house, identified by sound. That's the only
kind of swallow that we usually get at our yard, except for an occasional
Barn Swallow in late summer. The day before yesterday (3/13) I saw 3 Barn
Swallows fly over a soccer/baseball field in South Prairie a few miles from
our house while we were playing golf. It sure is early for Barn Swallows! You
can put these sightings in the Seen & Heard if you like, Jim. Also near that
field were 9 Western Meadowlarks and 38 Mourning Doves. Good Birding!
