Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday March 16. If you have anything to add call

On March 9 a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was in the channel off the South Jetty of
Yaquina Bay. Another was on Netarts Bay March 13.

Migrant CANADA GEESE, OSPREY, and early shorebirds are now being
reported. PIGEON GUILLEMOTS are now moving to the coast and into the
estuaries.

The wintering MOCKINGBIRD continues to be seen on the North Spit of Coos
Bay. Thirteen EURASIAN WIGEON remain on Kilches Meadow, north of
Tillamook. Two LAPLAND LONGSPURS were at the South Jetty of the Columbia
River March 14.

The HARRIS'S and CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS continue to be seen at the East
Side Checking Station on Sauvie Island. Good numbers of CRANES are still
being reported from the Island. The PALM WARBLER is still along 33d.
Avenue north of Columbia Blvd. in North Portland. On March 13 at least
three TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS were at the Gertz Road site in North
Portland, and nine NIGHT-HERONS are still at their North Portland
wintering roost.

A COMMON REDPOLL has been at Bill Thackaberry's feeders near Lebanon
during the week. Two SAY'S PHOEBES were at Eugene last week-end.

TREE and VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS are now moving through eastern Oregon.
Seventy DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS were at Haystack Reservoir near Madras
March 11.

A BLUE ROSS'S GOOSE was among the 15,000 SNOW and ROSS'S GEESE at Miller
Island WA south of Klamath Falls March 11. Four WHITE PELICANS were
nearby.

A HERRING GULL was at Chickahominy Reservoir near Riley March 11. The
next day a SNOW BUNTING was seen near The Narrows in Malheur NWR.

The flock of SNOW BUNTINGS are still being seen along Golf Course Road
near Enterprise. The BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS continue in Joseph. The number of
REDPOLLS have dropped off, but some are still around.
