Banding Report for Neawanna Wetland Preserve
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR

20 March 2000

Method: Up to ten 9m mist nets are placed in mixed Oregon
Crabapple/Twinberry/Spruce along the the upper Neawanna River,
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR. Captured birds are measured, ringed
with USBBL numbered metal bands and released. Data on time of
capture and side of net captured are also recorded to gain
an understanding of movements through the area.

Notes: The banding station was opened early this year to
target RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS; two males (one with a 40% green
back, one with no green on the back ) and one female were
banded. The AMERICAN ROBIN was already showing a brood patch
and two SONG SPARROWS were showing cloacal protuberance.
Recaptured SONG SPARROWS include an individual banded on
04/18/1999 (the first day of the Neawanna project) and
one banded on 07/08/1999.
