The Ventana Wilderness Society's Big Sur Ornithology Lab has an immediate
need for a Field Assistant from Apr 15 to Aug 15 2000. Duties include
working with a Field Crew Leader conducting Rapid Ornithological Inventories
utilizing mist-netting, point counts and area searches. Some vegetation
analysis experience would also be helpful. Work sites are in scenic and
remote parts of the Los Padres National Forest and near Big Sur, California.
The successful applicant would also spend time at our constant effort station
in Big Sur, CA
Compensation includes a stipend of 600/month, mileage, housiong while not
camping and camping per diem payments; own vehicle and proof of insurance
