Subject: Skagit Bluebird?

Yesterday in our new birding store in LaConner, a lady came in and said she
may have seen a bluebird near the intersection of Cook Road and Chuckanut
Dr. near Allen in Skagit County. She only saw it flying away from her, but
was sure it was neither a Stellar Jay nor a barn swallow (I had suggested
those possibilities.) Today she came back and said she was sure it was a
Mountain Bluebird and that she had gotten some photos. I'm going to try to
get away from the store for a while tomorrow to have a look. Anyone have
records of either Mountain or Westerns in the area?

The Night Herons seem to have left. I saw one two days ago both in the
morning and evening, but none yesterday or today. The Snow Geese seem less
in population and a few swans are still around. Don't see as many GBH's as
a few weeks ago, probably nesting. The tulips aren't evident yet, but the
daffodils look great. Anyone in the area is always welcome to stop and chat
birds.
