Thursday, I finally saw the first Rufous Hummingbird of the year, a week later than last year. This morning, he was joined by two females.

Funny how their arrival coincided with the mosquitos and yellowjackets, both of which were out in force yesterday (up here, at least...)

The first Violet-green Swallow also turned up yesterday. He landed in the treetop where they spend most of the summer.
