Tweets,
I was wondering if there was a recent crash in the Doug SQ population. I
ask this mostly because I noticed them less frequently in the last 2
years of Marbled Murrelet surveys than the 2 previous years.
Does anyone have information in this?
Maybe 96-97 had an abnormally high population. Surveys were conducted on
the westside of the Olympic Peninsula in forested habitat. Any
information would be helpful. I am also wondering if this did occur
could it help explain the recent departure of Spotted Owls in that
particular area (that would be through some rodent-wide pathogen)
BTW here in Sherwood I live on the 'edge' (literally and
figuratively:-)and have E. Fox SQ's> Doug SQ's and just yesterday thought
I saw a California Ground SQ.
