Just returned from my annual spring break birding trip to Redmond Wash. Reg
and I birded the skagit area and took a trip to Othello to check out the
Sandhill cranes. I found the Columbia NWR very interesting with many nice
birds including Long-billed Curlew, Loggerhead Shrike, Say's Phoebe and Rock
and Canyon Wrens. We could not find Burrowing Owls but did have enough
Western Meadowlarks, They were singing everywhere.
I am amazed at the amount of damage that the dogs have caused in
Marymoore Park in Redmond. In areas that in years past we found many
interesting birds it has become a barren area and we were constantly see
dogs running free in the leash area and areas that are posted no pets
allowed.
