As far as I know magpies are native to here. I agree with everyone else on
their sayings, I don't know what that guy was thinking. As far as the
falconry thing goes, as a pre-apprentice myself, magpies are smart but they
are catchable, I myself want to fly at corvids once in a while. If you have
a fast falcon or a cast of falcons you can most certainly catch them. Flying
accipiters at them is even more successful. The Northumberland crow falcon
club in Europe catches crows, rooks, jackdaws, magpies and even the very
hard corvids the carrion and hoodie crow all the time, obviously with the
name.

P.S. You can't complain about eggs being eaten because adults get eaten by
all sorts of hawks and we don't kill them do we!?! (Better no be at least!!)
