Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday March 30. If you have anything to add call Harry

A TUFTED DUCK was at the Rufus grain elevators in the Columbia River
Gorge March 24.

The YELLOW-BILLED LOON continues to be seen at Netarts Bay. Two EMPEROR
GEESE have been with a goose flock along Fenk Road near Tillamook all
week. Many of the geese are ALEUTIAN CANADA GEESE. The EURASIAN
GREEN-WINGED TEAL is still near the end of Fenk Road.

Migrant CASPIAN TERNS, YELLOWTHROATS, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, and
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS were reported during the week. Lesser numbers of
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, CHIPPING SPARROWS,
ROUGH-WINGED, CLIFF, and BARN SWALLOWS were also reported.

A HERMIT WARBLER was in a flock of TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS along the Winchuck
River, south of Brookings March 26. The MOCKINGBIRD is still being seen
on the North Spit of Coos Bay. A POMARINE JAEGER was off Boiler Bay March
28. A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was at the South Jetty of the Columbia River March
23.

On March 26 a SAY'S PHOEBE was along the I5 freeway near the Harrisburg
exit. A group of five WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS was at Crabtree, near
Lebanon March 28. An EARED GREBE and five GREATER SCAUP were on the
Philomath Sewage Ponds March 23. A PRAIRIE FALCON was at Mt. Pisgah, near
Eugene March 26.

Large numbers of ROSS'S GEESE are still in the Klamath Basin. A Blue
phased SNOW GOOSE and a GREATER SCAUP were there last week-end.

About 6000 SNOW GEESE, 200 WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, and an unexpected adult
THAYER'S GULL were at Summer Lake March 26. About 5000 SNOW GEESE,
including one blue phased bird, were at Malheur NWR March 23.
