Hi Tweets,
I spent the morning from 8-9:30AM birding the Black Lake Meadows. Highlights
were:
Wilson's Warbler WIWA 4-5
Warbling Vireo WAVI 2
Wood Duck WODU 1 male
Cinnamon Teal CITE 2 males
I ran into Keith Brady at the meadows, where he told me he has seen Solitary
Sandpiper there 2 days during this past week, but we could not turn one up
this morning.

After the Meadows, I went to the Lacey Clearcut where the highlight was a
nice singing male
MacGillivray's Warbler MGWA.
also around were many Chipping Sparrows CHSP

BTW, (By the way) I dissagree with Burts post on the evils of 4 letter codes.
I have only been using them since about december and they have helped me out
tremendously while taking notes in the field. I'll use Rick's example, Its
alot easier and faster to write down PSFL than to write out Pacific-slope
Flycatcher in a small field notebook, which gives you more time to
concentrate on the birds rather than writing every birds name down. So long
live 4 letter codes! Although I do agree if you are going to use them in a
tweeters post, you should also include the full name of the bird for people
who are not familiar with the codes.

If anyone is interested in learning the codes, send an e-mail to the tweeters
Listprocessor Listproc at u.washington.edu and include in the body of
the text only: get tweeters wa-list
Its the state list which also has all the 4 letter codes after the "real
english names."
Anyways, Good birding to you all.
