In my humble opinion, yes, you ARE the only one who thinks the American
Goldfinch is unsatisfactory. I think the American Goldfinch is one of the
best songbirds in America. My goodness, Nick, how can you say something like
that when a butter yellow AMGO is singing his heart out as I type this? The
Violet Green merely twitters and chirps. Oh, I do like the VGSWs, I admit,
but nothing makes it really summer until the Goldfinches arrive.

Count me very solidly on the American Goldfinch side!
