All this talk about Violet Green Swallows has me wondering about how to
best identify swallows/swifts. I'm a slighty-past-novice birder, and I
have a heck of a time with swallows and swifts, for the obvious reason
that the little buggers obstinately refuse to sit still for my
convenience.

Anyway, I saw what I thought were a bunch of Violet Green Swallows at
Magnuson park last Saturday, and I'd like to know if anyone has any tips
on ID'ing swifts and swallows.
