Hi Tweeties,

In about eleven days I'll be back birding with the new binoculars I just
ordered through AOL's Net Market. I ended up gritting my teeth and ordered
Tasco's Rare Bird California Condor 10x42. They have "long eye relief",
BAK-4, and parro prism. I know Tasco has a shaky reputation, but they've
got a great guarantee. They are full sized, weighing in at a little over a
pound, and have very smooth, rounded lines. I got them for $117.94,
shipping included. These should tide me over until I can go "whole hog" on
$300+ binocs!

Although I'm out of action until my new binocs come in, I'm being quite
entertained by a little female house sparrow I have christened "Sylvia".
She appears busier scolding my cats through the patio door and dive bombing
my
neighbor's cat on the next balcony than building a nest. Only once has the
male, named "Sylvester" joined in. I laugh at the little bird's antics. My
cats are now ignoring the bird's taunts. Ho hum, they just stretch out
in the afternoon sun and roll over.

Lydia.......waiting
