This is the Vancouver Bird Alert for Wednesday, May 3rd, midnight update.
Featured birds are Nashville Warbler and Ross' Goose.
Birders are reminded that this Thursday is VNHS Birder's Night. The
location is York House School, 4176 Alexandra St., Vancouver. The meeting
starts at 7:30 and all are welcome. This month's meeting is Member's slide
night and Dutch Auction.

Sightings for Wednesday, May 3rd
Migrant Passerines continue to be reported from several locations in the
Lower Mainland.
Most notably, Queen Elizabeth Park is active with several species of
warbler, including MacGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER and WILSON'S WARBLER with a
highlight being 6 NASHVILLE WARBLER. Also at this location were HAMMOND'S
FLYCATCHER, PACIFIC SLOPE FLYCATCHER, WARBLING VIREO, WESTERN TANAGER and
WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE.
>From Stanley Park comes the report of 2 NASHVILLE WARBLERS on the southwest
side of Lost Lagoon. Another NASHVILLE WARBLER was seen at the west end of
Wreck Beach.
The ROSS' GOOSE continues to be seen on Ferguson Road, Sea Island near the
horse farm.
3 YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS were seen off Highway 17 in Delta near the BC
Rail overpass as you approach Tsawwassen.
Sightings for Tuesday, May 2nd
A ROSS'S GOOSE was discovered in the fields of the Ferguson Farm on Sea
Island.
Three CHIPPING SPARROWS were reported from Tsawwassen on 6A Ave.
A CRESTED MYNA was observed near Wylie & 2nd in Vancouver.
Seen at the Reifel Refuge today were 105 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, a
TURKEY VULTURE, 2 EURASIAN WIGEON, an AMERICAN BITTERN, SORA, and a
PEREGRINE FALCON
Sightings for Monday, May 1st
Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver was the location for a DUSKY FLYCATCHER.
Also reported from QE Park were a MacGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, WARBLING VIREO,
CASSIN'S VIREO, 3 HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHERS, and a NASHVILLE WARBLER.
NASHVILLE WARBLERS were also reported from the 48100 block of Elkview Rd. in
Chilliwack and the 15300 block of 21st St. in South Surrey
Fifty GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were seen near Gilbert & No. 2 Road in
Richmond. Another 40 were reported from the Reifel Refuge. Also reported
from Reifel were 3 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, a CASSIN'S VIREO, 3 AMERICAN
BITTERN, and a HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER. Nearby, in a field near the junction of
Tamboline and Westham Island Rd., was a flock of 30 YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRDS.
The WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was again seen at the nursery area of the
Maplewood Conservation Area with a WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE sighted further along
the trail.
