....as somebody suggested we do for poor Utah, stuck with
the California gull...have you ever found a really
gorgeous bird, looked it up, and stared in disbelief
at the moniker you've got to hang on your beauty? I
went to Nisqually for the first time yesterday (WOW!!)
and found a real stunner, that I thought might be named
Black-Masked Golden Shout, or something like that. But
of course it's a Common Yellowthroat. Sigh. Imagine,
somebody saw enough of those to think it "common".
