Yesterday I had the first western tanager of the season calling in my yard;
actually sounded like several and since I don't hear them today, perhaps it
was just a group passing through. That was the earliest I have recorded
them here. My black-throated grey warbler has been singing for 2-3 days now
so I assume it is here to stay.
